On Tuesday at the Polish Sejm Grzegorz Brauna lawmaker from the far-right Konfederacja party, activated a fire extinguisher extinguishing the candles on the Hanukkah menorahnaming Jewish traditions “devil's act”.
– Racist motives have been attributed to me here, while I restore normalcy, put an end to satanic actions, racist triumphs, because this is the message of this holiday – said Grzegorz Braun, covered with white powder from a fire extinguisher.
Then, on the podium, he invited the parliamentarians to a “theological dispute”, after which he was expelled from the session by the Chairman of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia.
Szymon Hołownia mentioned the incident in his conversation with journalists “embarrassing” and said that the security services would carefully analyze the footage, a the appeal against the MP will be sent to the prosecutor's office.

Donald Tusk also responded to the incident. – This shame(…) this cannot happen again – comments the new Prime Minister.
Mark Brzezinski, the US ambassador to Poland, said in a post on the X website that he was “outraged” by the incident, which was a “disgusting act of hate” and should be condemned “in the strongest terms”.

In June, Grzegorz Braun stormed a historian's lecture on the Holocaust in Poland, destroying microphones and loudspeakers. In addition, the politician called Jews “enemies of the Polish nation”, accusing them of wanting to take over Polish territory and placing Poles on reservations.
