07:37. Air defenses repel massive Russian drone attack on Kyiv

Ukrainian air defenses repelled a massive night raid on Kiev by Russian drones, which came in groups from different directions and were shot down without reaching the capital, the Kiev city military administration reported on Monday morning.

00:30. Zelensky: Western aid not enough to equip “even four of 14” brigades

Ukraine has not received enough military aid from foreign partners to equip “even four of the 14” Ukrainian brigades that “must be ready” for his country, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with CNN.

Zelensky did not specify what the 14 brigades would be used for or where they would be sent.

He also defended the Ukrainian military command’s decision to launch an offensive into the Kursk region to route Russian forces there, rather than keeping Ukrainian forces east toward Pokrovsk, where Russian troops have made relatively rapid gains in recent weeks.

As he said, it doesn’t matter how many brigades are defending the eastern region if “half of them are not equipped.” Specifically, he said they lack armored vehicles and artillery shells because Russian forces are firing 12 times more shells than Ukrainian forces.
