“The tunnel under the Pigs is a big thing for the population,” admitted Polish People’s Party politician Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski on TVP’s “Guest News” program. In addition to peasant politicians, the event was attended by Jan Mosiński, MP from Law and Justice.
Baltic Pipe Construction
The programs discussed included the construction of the Baltic Pipeline gas pipeline. Bartoszewski decided that this was the right investment.
It’s great that we have the Baltic Pipeline. However, I will judge carefully, because this year there is no gas supply, and next year 2.5 m3 will contract from a possible 10, so we don’t need this yet.
– notice.
On the other hand, Mosiński was asked about what caused former Prime Minister Leszek Miller to be reluctant to build a gas pipeline.
I think this attitude is in line with the policy on the Berlin-Moscow route, because Berlin and Moscow do not want Poland to diversify its gas collection sources.
– remind MP.
This is a good direction which shows that Poland is a serious partner. (…) Today I want to see the faces of Leszek Miller and Donald Tusk
– added.
EU energy policy
The program also addresses the EU’s energy policy. Politicians agree that is not enough.
This is an inadequate policy at this time. Not everyone is aware of the fact that in winter the situation can be very difficult. (…) I think if the situation worsens, they will change their approach, but this must be done now, and not under pressure, when we will have a knife in our throat
– said Bartoszewski.
We warn against ETS in its current form. The EU’s energy policy is a weak one
– rated in turn PiS MP.
Repair
The interviewer, editor Michał Adamczyk, also asked his guests about the issue of reparations from Germany.
We deserve this money because Germany started the Second World War, in which we were the main victims. We suffered enormous losses and we have not received any compensation, other than very small compensation for the three categories of victims. The case was so complex that reparations had to be decided by the Post-World War II Peace Conference, which never happened. (…) You have to fight for redress. And this is what you have to fight for politically, not legally, because there is no legal entity to contact.
– said Bartoszewski, who, citing the words of PiS chairman Jarosław Kaczyński, added that it would be a “long road”.
We deserve this money and PSL speaks in this tone. It took some skillful diplomatic play to convince the Germans and make all Germans aware of what was happening here, because the awareness of the German population about the losses and what was happening here was very low.
– he shows.
Mosiński, when asked why Donald Tusk discredited the actions of the Polish government to obtain reparations from Germany, replied:
First of all, it offends the memory of the victims of World War II and offends the Polish nation, who had the full right to apply for such reparations or damages to Germany.
If we talk about good neighbors, Germany should respect this payment
– he shows.

Vistula Spit Trench
The event also discussed the cutting of the Vistula Spit. And on this, PiS and PSL politicians almost completely agree.
I am not criticizing the concept of digging a canal, but I am criticizing the fact that there is a shoal next to the portrait in Elbląg that would prevent any real transport by water to this port
– said the PSL politician.
If it is dug up and there is an opportunity for sea transport to the port at Elbląg, it is definitely better than asking the Russians if we can enter our own port, but it has to be done, and so far sailboats can sail there
– added.
Mosiński recalled that the same voices of criticism as from, among others, Civic Platforms were there when construction of the tunnel under the ‘win’ River began.
Similar voices were heard at excavations under the Swina River, when the Germans said it was threatening their interests. (…) At the time, some PO politicians criticized this idea, claiming that it was some kind of political game that would not be implemented.
– He says.
The tunnel under the Pig is a big thing that the residents need
– added Bartoszewski at the end.
