The best Czech swimmer Barbora Seemanová will not take part in the next World Championships in Budapest. The reason was the incessant health problems that had plagued him in winter.
“The main and only reason is my health problem. Already in the winter at the World Championships, I was injured, but I recovered, but after training, I overloaded the other side of the body and the injury came back, said the finalists of the last Olympics in Tokyo.
It wasn’t until early May that he completed two weeks of pain-free training. “We decided not to go to the championship because I didn’t want to represent the Czech Republic on the condition that I would go to 15th place. Even if I make it to the final, I will be disappointed if I don’t attack the personal record, continued the 22-year-old swimmer.
“We don’t have time to train what it takes to be successful in the final. With Bára, we agreed that we would choose one peak for the year and we would prioritize painless and aftercare training,“added coach Petra kábová. Seemanová will now focus on August’s European Championship in Rome.
“I don’t want to go to a race with the fact that I’m not 100% ready. I didn’t want to present myself to the world of swimming in this way, so I think I made the right decision, concluded Seeman.
