Victory day

The German act of unconditional surrender was originally signed on May 7 in Reims, France, but Soviet officials demanded that the document be signed in the German capital. Therefore, the following day, the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe, Dwight D. Eisenhower, arranged for the transport of the commanders of various German army units to Berlin, where the bill was signed again.
