Union leader and presidential candidate Josef Středula considered working in the eight-degree cold, on Saturdays and Sundays for 16,000 crowns, inadequate under 21st century conditions. “Andrej Babiš is the owner of a company that offers such a place, so I see a strong contradiction in what he says and how he actually behaves,” he claims. According to him, all three presidents had a few flies, but Miloš Zeman flew the most in his second term.

In an interview with Linda Bartošová, Středula also spoke about the future of leftists in the Czech Republic. According to him, populist entities have done him a disservice, he does not see himself as the current future leftist leader, he still believes in winning the presidential election despite the unfavorable opinion poll results.
At the same time, he feels the support of young people, according to him, it is they who are in an exceptional situation where they are worried whether they will have money for housing. He also responded to parts of his campaign, in which he promised voters, among other things, the right to the Internet or health.
The interview with Josef Středula took place shortly before Seznam Zprávy drew attention to his role in the Metrostav construction company case. The company asked President Miloš Zeman through the union for clemency in the corruption case directly to the Středul council, he wrote servers.
