Tennis star Roger Federer is at the top level

The Swiss explained that in his work instagram account Thursday.

She has 20 Grand Slam titles in her track record and is one of the greatest tennis profiles of all time.

Federer wrote that he also wanted to play tennis in the future, but it was irrelevant to participate in tournaments on the ATP tour.

– As you all know, the last few years have created challenges for me with injuries and surgeries. I have worked hard to return to competitive conditions, wrote the Swiss.

– But I also know the limits and capacities of my own body, and lately the message has been very clear. “I’m 41 years old, I’ve played more than 1,500 games in 24 years,” he added.

Debuted in 1998

Federer further wrote that the sport of tennis has treated him generously, more generously than he had dreamed.

– And now I must admit that it is time to end my active career, wrote the veteran.

Federer made his debut on the ATP tour at home to Gstaad in 1998. The following year he became the youngest player to rank in the world’s top 100.

In 2000 he was in the ATP final for the first time, and the following year he won his first title in Milan.

Now a wonderful career has ended.

Thank you wife

– This is a bitter decision, because I will miss everything the tour has given me. But at the same time, there is so much to celebrate. I consider myself one of the luckiest people in the world, he wrote Thursday.

“I was given a special talent to play tennis, and I had to do it at a rate I never imagined, and for longer than I thought,” he added.

This father of four children expresses his deepest gratitude to his wife Mirka, parents and sister throughout his career.

He has recorded 127.5 million dollars in his career, about 1.2 billion Norwegian kroner.

In April, Federer announced that he would compete in the ATP 500 tournament at home to Basel in late October. Federer has won the tournament ten times in the past, but this year’s edition now goes without him.

Wonder feeling

Federer showed from a young age that he wanted to be a tennis player. – When my love for tennis started, I was a kid in my hometown, Basel. “I used to look at the players in amazement,” the 41-year-old wrote.

– They were like giants to me, and I began to dream. The dream made me work harder, and I started to believe in myself, he continued.

At the same time, he hints that a career in the sport of tennis may be relevant when the active part is now over.

Casper Ruud spoke to TV 2 about Federer and a possible career break until Wednesday.

– This is very sad. You have to accept that it will happen one day, but I hope it hasn’t, the Norwegian told the channel.
