Gentlemen, how are you? You look great.
Jindřich : Ah, it seems you can’t see any further. I celebrated my eightieth birthday last year, which is saying something, but we live comfortably, so hopefully this will last for a while.
Jan: A sore knee limits my movement a bit, otherwise fine.
Are you still moving? For the purposes of your body box?
Jindřich: Of course, I have a bicycle, namely a racing bicycle, as a companion for life. Twice a week we ride with a group about sixty, eighty kilometers. In the summer, I join my girlfriend, we just bathe, we love each other, we are not in a hurry, sometimes even electric bikes come to the rainbow.
Jan: I am often at the cottage in Čenkovice in Orlické Hory. My sister rarely goes there, I often go there. Skiing and tennis are very good there.
I see you live in the present, how often do you remember the fierce battles on the board?
Jindřich: Of course you shouldn’t forget it. In our memory, my brother and I not only had our own success, but were an integral part of it.
Jan: Brother means Ruda Harth, our coach, we have been together for forty years. He was our second father, the original died tragically at the end of the German occupation.
What would it be like if you and your brother went through a time trial?
Jindřich: On the one hand, there is no danger, but I think it will be very interesting.
Jan: That probably won’t happen, but what’s clear is that my brother will win overall. He is still physically fit today.
And what would it be like if you were thirty-five years old and you were playing against the best pair of wheels today?
Jindřich: Difficult question, of course even the wheels move forward quickly, the wheels also change. Surprisingly, nowadays it’s softer, but I also think it’s more technical.
Jan: And be more careful. In my opinion, we attacked more, the tactics not so much. I’m not saying we’re going to win, but it’s going to be an interesting effort.
Do you live in a different time, in a different time?
Jindřich: We lived in normal times, because there were no computers and cell phones.
Jan: And we live in a time when there is more camaraderie, camaraderie, when people like to get together and just like each other. By this I am not establishing an ancient ideology, but encouraging people to meet and find time for each other in the current era of problematic consumerism.
Advent is approaching, Christmas time. What to expect…?
Jindřich: For me, health is an absolute priority. Without him, everything would be hell. Hopefully it will last for a while.
Jan: I will also say this for my brother: I hope that there will finally be peace and tranquility in the world. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
