The football world is thinking about Norway’s failure: – It could have done better

Football fans around the world have little idea how Norway did not perform better with Erling Braut Haaland (23) and Martin Ødegaard (24) in the team.

At the weekend, the last little bit of hope was crushed. Norway will not participate in the European Championships in Germany 2024.

It is also attracting attention outside Norway. In the ESPN program “Gab & Christmas Show” Gabriele Marcotti and Julien Laurens were surprised Norway produced such a poor result despite having two of the world’s best players.

– I don’t understand how Norway failed with as much talent as they have, at least in the starting Eleven. But sorry, they have some really great talent. They have Ødegaard, they have Haaland, they have good defenders… They should be much better than before, said Laurens.

– There may be debate about how good the defenders are, but this is a strange situation, said Marcotti.

“Scotland are throwing a Haaland party in his bed” chanted Scotland fans at Hampden Park on Sunday.

The 3-3 match is one of the big matches after tickets to the EC in Germany next summer are already in the box.

When asked whether Norway would be laughed at by Football Europe, former national team captain Kjetil Rekdal answered as follows:

– Yes… I don’t know if England or Germany laughed, but Denmark probably laughed, said Rekdal in the VGTV studio.

Denmark is the only Scandinavian country to have qualified for next year’s EC in Germany.

In Sweden too, they noticed Norway’s failure. The two entered Afton Sword And Football channel they wrote in astonishment about the splashes of the Norwegians’ bellies, meanwhile Today’s news wrote fearfully after Sweden also failed miserably:

“The terrible thing is that Sweden will become the new Norway,” wrote DN commentator Johan Esk, referring to the fact that Norway failed to qualify twelve times in a row.

At the end of last week, Norway’s failure became the subject of discussion among the media and the biggest football sites in Europe. NRK wrote on Sunday that the Daily Mail, The Sun, Goal, FourFourTwo and Talksport were scratching their heads.

– Erling Haaland’s wait for international tournaments continues, writes Talksport.

– Two of the Premier League’s best players will be absent from the EC, writes FourFourTwo.

– Norway has once again succeeded in qualifying for a major tournament, wrote Goal.
