The new owner wants to transform the 370 m² ground floor house that can be used and styled in a traditional family style into an open space furnished in a minimalist, modern and sophisticated style. His house was supposed to be a youth lair where he could hang out with his friends.
“We turned the main parts of the interior – the kitchen, living room and playroom – into one open space, where there are views of the terrace and the large swimming pool with jacuzzi, fireplace and sitting area,” explains interior designer and founder of Brana Design studio Helena Branaová .
The black, gray and blue color palette forms the backbone of the style, which fulfills the masculine character and simplicity of this home solution. High ceilings, luxurious European furnishings and lighting add to the charm of the home.
The designer chose a concrete floor, which is practical in terms of maintenance, but creates a feeling of coldness. Therefore, in contrast to it, he chose a brown wardrobe, which, on the contrary, warmed the interior.
He and his team used another proven contrast when complementing the interior, refreshing the simple style with luxurious materials, such as Emperador Dark marble or large black-stained oak.
The young owner also decided that he wanted a pool table rather than a dining table. So the designer designed a custom-built sculptural pool table in black tones and a rather minimalistic wall with black glass shelves and cue holders in the shape of the designer’s palm. The wall next to the pool table is then covered with wallpaper with a modern abstract motif reminiscent of a mural with a subtle combination of gray and white.
The client’s special desire is a “sweet shop,” or a room where he can watch sports broadcasts surrounded by his favorite candy. The designer went into such detail that, as part of this stylish TV room, he made candy in the name of American basketball player Kobe Bryant, who was a client’s favorite athlete and lived not far from him.
The bedrooms are furnished in a truly minimalist way, which, thanks to various shades of gray in combination with white and details in dark blue to kerosene, has a calming effect.
