The sanctions hit Russian transport. Minister admits there is a problem – Wiadomości

– The sanctions imposed on Russia today have practically destroyed all logistics in our country. We were forced to look for new transport corridors, said Saveliev during a visit to the Astrakhan region.

According to the minister, the authorities rely on solving this problem through the North-South international transport corridor, which among other things, connects the Astrakhan port on the Volga, the Olja port on the Volga-Caspian canal and Makhachkala on the Caspian Sea.

Russian isolation

After Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine, the world’s largest aircraft carrier, the Maersk, ceased operations in Russia. Similarly, FEdEx and UPS have stopped shipping goods to Russia.

In addition, shipping companies MSC, Hapag-Lloyd and Yang Ming have suspended chartering vessels to transport their goods to Russia. Previously, the EU, US and Canada closed their airspace to Russian aircraft.

There’s no way to get the gas out

Sanctions and transport restrictions have also hit Russian oil companies. The company requested permission from the Ministry of Natural Resources to increase the rate of LPG combustion. Instead of 5 percent. production, concerns want to burn as much as 30 percent. gas they have nothing to do with.

As explained by the portal wnp.pl the so-called Related Petroleum Gas (APG, also called gas flare) obtained from the extraction of crude oil is used to produce liquefied petroleum gas (LHG). One of the most valuable products is LPG. This gas is also a by-product of natural gas extraction.

“So far, Russia has been actively exporting this product to Europe. However, it led to an attack on Ukraine imposition of various sanctions in Moscow, and many customers withdrew from the purchase of this fuel. In addition, it should be borne in mind that large quantities of LPG are exported to Hungary, Romania and Moldova, but by closing the border between Russia and Ukraine, transit been very disturbed. It should also be borne in mind that sanctions have suspended shipments to Poland and the Baltic countries, “we read further.

Blocking transportation routes also makes it difficult to find new buyers.
