Long ago, the Pas a pusu podcast took listeners to interesting and unseen places on our planet; among others to Afghanistan, Greenland or the Caribbean island of Roatán, which is popular with Czechs. The Slepá mapa podcast will continue this tradition, and in the first weeks it will feature, among other things, interviews about Hong Kong, Uzbekistan or Iraq.
The first guest will be Adriana Kobulejová from Czech, who has lived in Saudi Arabia since 2016. In the podcast, the former flight attendant will explain how one of the most conservative countries in the world has changed in recent years and how it approaches human rights today, which often criticized for not complying. “Today, in my eyes, about 70 to 80 percent more relaxed than when I first arrived,” Kobulejová said of the kingdom.
Two weeks later, on January 31, listeners will be transported to Hong Kong via the podcast. Czech Rudolf Bernart will explain how he lives in the city, which was the most visited destination in the world before the pandemic, and with what simple private spaces people often have to function.
It comes out every other Tuesday
“I’m looking forward to being able to bring interesting stories back to listeners,” said host, Michael Švarc. “Most of my guests are people who have lived abroad for a long time or have lived abroad so they have the opportunity to get to know the country more deeply than ordinary tourists. Besides them, there will also be experienced travelers who regularly return to a destination or choose unexplored destinations,” added the moderator.
The Blind Map podcast will be released every Tuesday. You can listen to it live on Novinky.cz or on the streaming platforms Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Podcasty.cz.
