The innovation week organized by the educational institution ELAI (European Leadership & Academic Institute) has grown into the largest Czech event in its eight years of existence. This year also confirms this with fifty seminars and twelve discussion panels on innovative projects and artificial intelligence, which will be led by experts from the Czech Republic and abroad. For example, Umberto Fugiglando from MIT America, who in Prague will present efforts to stop global warming using bubbles as part of the Space Bubbles project.
Innovation Week this year, of which CzechCrunch is a media partner, will be the largest in its history, both in terms of the number of seminars and discussion panels held, but also in terms of thematic coverage. This year’s international conference will offer twice as many visiting panels as last year. Topics discussed include the future of work and the work environment, innovation in the health sector, the future of mobility, women’s representation in the technology sector, and welfare issues.
However, one of the biggest topics is artificial intelligence, which has entered the Innovation Week program since its first year and has become increasingly important over the years. This is also true this year thanks to the recent AI boom.
The organizers want to look at the issue of AI primarily through the eyes of ordinary people, namely how we can use artificial intelligence in our lives. Therefore, the invited experts will talk not only about their current role in the world of business or startups, but also about their function in society as a whole.
Big names
Abran Maldonado, one of the leading experts in the field of artificial intelligence, currently the official ambassador of OpenAI and co-founder of the social company Create Labs, will definitely discuss this topic. It focuses on providing the skills or resources needed to succeed in the technology and media industries to diverse groups of people without appropriate backgrounds.
Another star of Innovation Week was Umberto Fugiglando of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who is a member of the interdisciplinary team of scientists working on the Space Bubbles project. He is working on sending a satellite with a bubble engine into orbit, where it will scatter and deflect solar radiation with the help of the released bubbles, thereby having a positive impact on climate change.
Karel Kovář aka Kovy will also appear this year
However, innovation week is also reserved for Czech projects. In one day, most of the Czech innovation elite will gather in one place. There will be AI specialist Tomáš Mikolov from the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of the Czech Technical University in Prague, Stanislav Fořt from Stability AI, INVEN Capital director Petr Míkovec, head of Package holding Simona Kijonková, founder of # Platform HolkyzMarketing Pavlína Louženská, Ondřej Vlček, philanthropist and president of the antivirus company Gen, and others.
Another part of Innovation Week is the Innovation Fair, which will showcase 40 breakthrough projects from various fields of the modern technological world, originating from the Czech Republic and abroad. And there will be no shortage of fifty seminars led by domestic experts from various disciplines.
For example, influencer Karel Kovy Kovář, global success architect Eva le Peutrec, tech YouTuber Petr Mára, new head of Czechitas Senta Čermáková, designer Anna Marešová, gastronomy enthusiast Lukáš Hejlík, head of startup Soulmio Simona Zábržová and many others will appear.
On Monday, October 9, a ceremonial opening evening will take place in the DOX+ area with the participation of leading representatives of the Czech Republic and representatives of innovative companies, projects and partners of the entire event. In the evening there will be a discussion panel focusing on innovation in the field of education called “Learning is Courage”. This will be a presentation of eight examples of innovative education that are already underway or exist in the form of pilot projects within the framework of formal and informal educational practices in the Czech Republic.
Innovation Week itself will start on Tuesday, October 10, at the ČSOB Campus in Radlice Prague. For those who are interested, it’s ready some level of acceptance, while the basic ones are completely free so everyone can come and enjoy the atmosphere of the event. Those who can’t make it to Prague can choose an alternative in the form of a number of accompanying events that will be held in cities across the country as part of Innovation Week. In this case various conferences or seminars will also be held.
