Czestochowa America

Trump’s entry was a reference to President Andrzej Duda’s visit Sunday to the shrine of the Pauline monks, dubbed “American Częstochowa.” The Polish president will attend Holy Mass there and the dedication of a monument honoring Poland’s struggle for independence after World War II. Initially, the Republican candidate’s staff announced that Trump would join Duda at the ceremony, but was later told that would not happen.

The shrine in Doylestown is an important meeting and pilgrimage site for the Polish diaspora in the US. Pennsylvania, where 5 percent of the population is of Polish descent, is considered one of the most important states for the fate of the presidential election. Along with Michigan and Wisconsin.
