The resignations were said to be the result of an election campaign that was criticized within the party. Sobolewski is considered one of President Jarosław Kaczyński’s most trusted people.
“Jarosław Kaczyński has a very bad opinion about the party’s activities and the disputes within the party ranks. Several years ago, PiS changed its structure to 100 districts – this reform, according to Kaczyński, was not successful. Moreover, the list is very weak, ” we read in gazeta.pl. According to the portal’s journalists, Sobolewski should have been “responsible” for the final campaign.
The head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Poland, Marcin Mastalerek, also sharply criticized the PiS campaign. “I would advise PiS to stand up for the truth and draw real conclusions, not conclusions that lead to factional games,” he said on TVN24.
Over the years, not only Sobolewski himself has been in controversy, but also his wife, who sits on many supervisory boards of state-owned companies. “My wife is a private person, not a public person. He was an independent, ambitious man, and I was one of the last people to know where he worked.” – Sobolewski once responded to this controversy on RMF radio.
Krzysztof Sobolewski has been in PiS since 2003. He has been a member of the party’s parliament since 2019, before which he was, among other things, a member of the Śródmieście district council in Warsaw.

Let us remember that although PiS won the most votes in the last election, the party is incapable of governing alone. They have also failed to find a potential coalition partner, and Donald Tusk is likely to become the new prime minister. Therefore, there have been significant changes in the group. It is known that Ryszard Terlecki is no longer chairman of the club. He will be replaced by Mariusz Błaszczak.
