Novak Djokovic (36) defeated Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (32) in the Paris Masters final on Sunday. He then took over the throne again after his final defeat against Holger Rune last year.
The Serbian tennis legend didn’t experience many problems and won in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
It was the Serbian’s seventh win at the Paris Masters tournament and the 36-year-old now has 40 titles at the ATP 1000 level.
No one has won more Masters 1000 titles than Djokovic.
Additionally, “Djoko” has 97 ATP titles and 24 grand slam wins.
Despite achieving a superior victory in the French capital, the Serbian’s fantastic play on the field did not necessarily attract attention.

But on Sunday, the Serb showed that he is a good winner in more ways than one.
This was revealed in the victory interview after the victory.
Because even though the Serbian tennis star is winning again on the tennis court, there is a heartbroken Bulgarian player on the other side of the net.
As the 36-year-old talked about the meaning of the win, the winner looked at Dimitrov, who sat with his face buried in his hands.
Suddenly, Djokovic interrupted the interview.
Something obvious also surprised the reporters on the ground.
– OK, let’s rest for a while, said the reporter.
The Serbian calmly walked up to his opponent on Sunday and gave him a big hug and consoled the world number 14.
The gesture was well received by the audience, who responded with deafening cheers for the finalists.
The video has been viewed more than 250,000 times in less than a day and has been shared widely on social media.
– What a moment! wrote tennis journalist José Morgado on Twitter.
Wonder? Absolutely not!
After the hug, Djokovic said sweet words to his 32 year old opponent.
– I have been in this situation many times before. I have lost in the final. I am grateful to have won more finals than I have lost. I really hope he continues to play at a high level. He has played some of his best games this week and I wish him the best. “I hope he can win big tournaments,” said the legendary Serbian player.
Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov is not just anyone in the tennis circus.
The 32 year old player was previously ranked third in the world. Now he is slowly but surely on his way back to the best company.
Thinks he should be thrown away
When the world rankings were updated on Monday morning, the Bulgarian was among the world’s 15 best players for the first time in five years.
The final loss saw him move up to 14th, and after the defeat Dimitrov thanked the crowd for their support.
– I just wanted to express how grateful I am for this wonderful week. It’s been a rollercoaster the last three months. Reaching the final of this tournament means more than you can imagine. But it wouldn’t have been possible without their incredible support. “To be honest, I’m very grateful,” said Dimitrov after the loss in Paris.
In mid-November, Djokovic will defend his title in the ATP playoffs. The Serbian beat Casper Ruud in last year’s final. The player from Norway did not participate in the playoffs this year.
