Champions League
The opening duel of the Champions League quarter-finals is just around the corner, and already on Tuesday, Benfica Lisbon, Inter Milan, Manchester City and Bayern Munich will start the fight. However, many units have significant difficulties with the marodka and some of their stars are unable to use it. So who aren’t we going to see this week in cup contention?
Benfica had to do without five players for their opening quarter-final clash with Inter Milan. Due to a thigh muscle strain, defender Mihailo Ristic has been out of action since late January, and Alexander Bah, who picked up a knee injury in Friday’s game against Porto, will also be left out of the Nerazzurri forward.
Julian Draxler has been out for a long time and striker Goncalo Guedes is yet to come into the game. Missed last due to a card penalty. Nicolas Otamendi must serve his time. Between In Tuesday’s duel, Hakan Calhanoglu and Milan Škriniar are likely to miss out through injury.
Manchester City in a home match against Bayern Munich will continue to miss Phil Foden. He will be back in two weeks after the appendix operation. On the opposite side, the marodka is much wider. Erick Maxim Choupo-Moting has a knee injury as does Lucas Hernández, who has been out since France’s opening match at the World Cup. However, the French defender has been training with Bayern.
Manuel Neuer has also been out for a long time, and new Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel cannot rely on Mathys Tel, who has suffered a groin injury, in attack.
On Wednesday, they will try to solve their offensive problems Naples. The almost certain Scudetto winner couldn’t count on top scorer Victor Osimhen, and after the clash with Lecce, Giovanni Simeone was also in trouble. In contrast, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not start 100%, instead, Pierre Kalulu is already training after a calf injury and could theoretically play in the opening quarter-finals.
Big problem before the battle with Chelsea Carlo Ancelotti did not finish. Ferland Mendy and Mariano Diaz will definitely be out. But it’s gone for most of the season and Real so they don’t worry too much. Frank Lampard believes he will not include Armand Broja and Thiago Silva, two players with long-term injuries, in his squad. Question marks loom over Cesar Azpilicueta, who suffered a nasty concussion against Southampton in mid-February, while Mason Mount has struggled with a strained stomach muscle.
