Jabeur, the current runner-up in the world rankings, won with Czech woman Marie Bouzkova 3:6, 6:1, 6:1, while earlier on Tuesday Maria turned out to be better than compatriot Jule Niemeier 4:6, 6:2 , 7:5.
After other players from the top ten of the world rankings, including leader Iga wiątek, dropped out of the previous round, Jabeur is considered by many to be the favorite of this year’s competition in London.
On Tuesday night, Tunisia had a lot of problems at first, she lost the first set against Bouzkova, 66 in the world, but in the next two she got much better.
-I’m very, very happy. “Especially after my win in midfield, which I love,” said Jabeur after an hour and 47 minutes.
“I knew that my rivals would have me work on every point and I’m glad I woke up in the second set and then played really well in the third,” he added.

Promotion to the semifinals is her biggest ever Grand Slam success – she has previously been in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open (2020) and Wimbledon (2021).
At the same time, Jabeur is only the fourth African tennis player in the Open era (and the first since 1997) to reach the last four of a Grand Slam tournament.
In the semifinals, her rival will be the revelation of the event, nearly 35-year-old Tatjana Maria (born August 8, 1987), mother of two daughters.
After beating compatriot Niemeier, the experienced tennis player admits it’s crazy to reach her first Grand Slam semifinal in her 47th attempt, but – as she adds – motherhood is still her biggest success.
In 2015, Maria reached the third round on London grass and on Sunday it was her biggest Grand Slam achievement.
4 – Since 1984, only 4 female players have reached the semifinals in #Wimbledon ranking outside the top-100: Mirjana Lucic in 1999 (#134), Jie Zheng in 2008 (#133), Serena Williams in 2018 (#181) and Tatjana #Maria this year (#103). She won the semifinals of Wimbledon just 15 months after the birth of her second daughter – Cecylia.
It was Cecilia’s birth that saw her miss three Grand Slam tournaments last year.
On Tuesday, she became the sixth woman in the Open era to reach the semifinals of Wimbledon after her 34th birthday.
– For me, the most important thing in my life is being a mother of two children. Nothing will change that – Maria repeated at the press conference, still smiling.
– Yes, I’m in the semifinals of Wimbledon, it’s crazy, but I’m still a mother. I will come back and see my kids again. I will do what I do every day. I’m going to change a diaper for my daughter. I try to stay normal as much as possible because my greatest pride is being a mother, added Maria. Interestingly, his father is Henryk Małek, a former handball player, Polish born in Zabrze. He died in 2008.
