Zemská borodnice U Apolinář is a perinatological center with much success. Local doctors are dedicated to saving the smallest and most fragile babies born on the 22nd-24th. weeks of gestation, with body weight often under half a kilogram.

From the very beginning, parents are also involved in the care of the baby. As soon as the little patient’s health condition allows, parents can “kangaroo” him (bring him to the breast with direct skin-to-skin contact). Babies weighing several hundred grams are kept here by the mother. The food supply is taken care of by a team of lactation consultants who are on hand to advise mothers to pump breast milk, if the baby’s condition allows, to help with breastfeeding. Parents are allowed to be with the baby at all times. They are welcome and expected to be an integral part of the team that cares about the health of babies.

An association called Aponedo was created by the association of mothers whose babies were saved by neonatologist Apollinaris.

Without the doctor’s professional care, their children probably wouldn’t be here. And since kindness was supposed to return, they decided to help. In collaboration with “Apollinaris” they founded an association whose goal is to supply maternity hospitals with what is not available here.

They are trying to make long stays more pleasant for mothers, to provide maximum comfort to little patients, and in recent years they have intensively devoted themselves to the modernization of doctors’ equipment. Thanks to the latest technology, magicians in white coats can save the lives of children who wouldn’t even get the chance anywhere else.

On Friday, September 23, they hosted a charity concert at the beautiful venue of the besedy Malostranské club in Prague. Proceeds from this event will support the department of premature babies at the maternity hospital in Apolinář. In particular, this will contribute to the purchase of a unique pulmonary ventilator. Vasilův Rubáš and Pohřební chapel groups will play to dance and listen, who have also decided to support premature babies. The concert starts at 7pm.
