Less than a week after the digital launch, it is clear that the new and important Indian model will find its way to the MC exhibition in Lillestrøm, and thus it will be the first time it will be showcased to the public.
The MC exhibition is back after the pandemic halted previous exhibitions in 2019, and with a real bang. Because it’s a bit of a go’bit they can bait.
Because when the show opens on March 3, the oldest motorcycle manufacturer in the US, Motorcycles India, is also finding its way to Norway, and with its new and important Head of Sport India.
– Rarely do we get the opportunity to be the first exhibition to show the world like that first, said the just general Per Sårheim with undisguised pride.
Polaris Indian owned was founded as early as 1901, and one of the people behind the company was actually Swedish – Oscar Hedström. His family emigrated to the United States in 1880, and he started building bicycles and eventually met another bicycle manufacturer, George Hendee.
They found their tune, and decided to switch from bicycles to motorcycles. So together they built the first motorcycle in 1901, and the 1.75 hp two-wheeler was the start of the success that has now brought the brand to Norway.
101 years ago, a model called Indian Chief came into existence, and the series is still alive today. And it was precisely the boss who found his way into the MC fair. More precisely, a slightly sportier variant called the Indian Sport Chief, which made its world premiere a few days ago.
‒ Since launching in 2021, the redesigned Indian Chief range has received positive feedback from bikers around the world. It offers a wide range of performance and styling options to suit different personalities and preferences,” said Mike Dougherty, president of Indian Motorcycles.
When the Motorcycle Importers Association and Nova Spektrum organized the first MC exhibition since 2019, it was of course at full throttle, because according to the organisers, India would be joined by all the other major manufacturers from Europe, Japan and of course the home of the motorcycles. country, United States of America.
– In addition, we have never had so many new and probably more unknown brands in the hall. Like other European countries, compiling all the news for 2023 was a challenge. Nonetheless, we are very proud of what we have achieved this year, assures Messe General Per Sårheim.
In other words, visitors shouldn’t miss a thing when the exhibition doors open at the end of next week.
‒ The most important thing for the visitors is that all the famous brands are ready with the news available here in Norway. Certain brands are rolling out 2023 news a bit later this year, and of course we won’t be getting it this time around, says Sårheim.
As usual at such fairs, there is a combination of importers and dealers presenting ranges and news, and besides fresh bikes, vintage and racing bikes as well as a wide range of cafe racers and custom bikers find their way to Lillestrøm .
So here both old and new MC fans get a chance to see some real gems, and for the first time since 2019. The potential audience should be good too, because since the last fair, nearly 50,000 have taken up the MC badge.
They’re probably curious about what the MC world has to offer, and they’ll have their answer next weekend. Here are some examples of what they can expect.
