Egyptian authorities announced the news on Thursday.
The discovery was made in connection with an extensive scanning project of the pyramids, which has been ongoing since 2015. Modern scanning technology was used to comb the interior of the ancient structures.
The corridor now found in Khufu’s Pyramid is located directly behind the main entrance. The researchers believe the corridors were built to reduce the burden on the main entrance or rooms that had not previously been found.

The Pyramid of Cheops is the only thing left of the Seven Wonders of the World from ancient times. It took 20 years to build, completed around 2580 BC. and is the largest of the three Great Pyramids of Giza outside of Cairo. It is believed to have been built as the burial chamber of Pharaoh Khufu.
The 146 meter high pyramid was the tallest man-made structure in the world until the 330 meter high Eiffel Tower was built in Paris in 1889.
