Jakob Ingebrigtsen (22) won the 1500 meters on 32/3/59 in Rabat on Sunday. He was never threatened in a strong field. Light hair doesn’t work.

Ingebrigtsen earned his tenth win in the Diamond League event. He beat Yared Nuguse by 43 hundredths. The 23-year-old set American records indoors by one mile and 3000 this winter. This was his first meeting with Ingebrigtsen.

The Diamond League in Morocco on Sunday is Ingebrigtsen’s season opener outdoors.
There he met some of the top runners, notably Abel Kibsang of Kenya, who had a pressure of 3.29.56 – against 3.28.32 Ingebrigtsen of the 2021 Olympics. Australia’s Oliver Hoare and Spain’s Mario Garcia were other cannons at the start.

When it went off, Ingebrigtsen was in front, followed by Oliver Hoare.
Ingebrigtsen’s big goal this year is WC in Budapest at the end of August. As the defending world champion, he also got a free spot in the 5000 meter WC event, but it is currently unclear when he will cover the distance.
On the other hand, he will run the 1,500 meters at least four times before WC, including in Bislett on June 15. The Rogal native is the reigning Olympic champion in the 1,500 meters, but came second at last year’s World Championships.
Ingebrigtsen missed some of the basics in the waiting period due to a lingering cold, but has been training very well in recent months.
Filip Ingebrigtsen also started in Rabat. He was finally free from the injury problems that marred his 2022 season. He ran well and finished under 3.40. 39.39.28 gave 13th place.
Fred Kerley won the 100 meters in 9.94, despite not having a great start.
