- This morning, the National Council of Civil Platforms approved the lists of candidates for the Sejm and Senate
- The biggest sensation was the initial announcement with KO and Agrounia
- Today, the election is about whether we will restore self-government in Poland. From this perspective, I really like this extensive list of knockouts – expert judges
- Other important information can be found on the Onet home page
— We have decided to participate in this campaign on a joint list with other circles, I will ask Michał Kołodziejczak from Agrounia to appear on stage — Donald Tusk, the head of KO, said Wednesday morning. – Today we have an emergency, and this project is unconventional, but I will do everything to make this project credible – assured the leader of Agrounia, Michał Kołodziejczak, at a meeting of the PO National Council.
At today’s meeting, Tusk announced that from the list of Civic Coalition the upcoming elections, among other things, will also take place. former ombudsman Adam Bodnar, Hanna Gill-Piątek, Karolina Pawliczak, former historical journalist Bogusław Wołoszański or former Polish ski jumper coach and president of the Polish Ski Association Apoloniusz Tajner.
Agrounia on the Citizenship Coalition list. Expert: This is a tactical move
– For me, Michał Kołodziejczak’s entry into the Civic Coalition list was not a surprise – commented Prof. Radosław Markowski.
Political scientists have even suggested that this was a “highly effective tactical move.”
he added.
According to an expert who has been watching the Polish political scene for years, the other names on the knockout list have not caused a sensation either.
This list is not surprising. Let me remind you that this party has the adjective “civilian” in its name, so it should have gathered people with different views. Some people may not expect Michał Kołodziejczak or Bogusław Wołoszański there, he named them one by one.
– evaluate prof. Markowski.
According to him, the current parliamentary campaign should not focus on sectoral policy issues.
he added.
Agrounia on the knockout list. “Tusk and Kołodziejczak will not go hand in hand”
Specialists in comparative political science and electoral behavior analysis also point to the lack of agreement between Tusk and Kosiniak-Kamysz and Hołownia. The two recently decided that they would go to the election together under the Third Street banner.
– evaluate prof. Markowski.
– This is, of course, a very wise politician, but still very election clumsy. I think Tusk has been suggesting starting on one list all the time, but it takes two lists to dance. In addition, today it is especially the Third Street who should be concerned about this, because they are threatened with not entering parliament, he said.
When asked whether Tusk would be able to get along with Kołodziejczak, who is one of the most controversial politicians, if KO wins the election, the political scientist replied that he especially expected a substantive discussion.
— Tusk and Kołodziejczak are sure to have a big clash for example, on how to finance certain aspects of agricultural production. However, it’s not about this election – reminded Onet’s interlocutor.
— There is an argument in world political science that a political party should be a large organism that represents a large part of society. On these sides, various dilemmas were resolved, and of course there were differences of opinion. However, this is about substantive reasons, not ideological mush,” he explained.
publicist denied.
Political scientist: Tusk has all the arguments to decide the fate of the party
Let’s remember that in recent opinion polls, support for Agrounia was very small. Just three weeks earlier, concurrent with the Agreement, Agrounia hit support at the 1.5 percent level. — which is well below the electoral threshold (ie 5 percent – ed.). In turn, in another poll—a CBOS from mid-July—Agronia enjoyed 1 percent support.
– no doubt Prof. Markowski.
