Cultivating interest in engineering in elementary school students is still the number one priority. Karvinská High School of Technology and Services is trying to bring each field closer to them through the Craft Gate event next year.
Petr Urbansky, professional training teacher for the mechanical branch: “We have prepared 20 samples, among which the new ones are the renovation of wheel rims in a car repair shop, we have modern cars and Hummers.”
Even in the machine shop where mechanical engineering students study, event visitors can get acquainted with useful tools, such as CNC milling machines or lathes.
Roman Waloszek, vocational training teacher: “I try to show kids the difference between classical machines and numerically controlled CNC machines.”
A big attraction and also something new was the track built in the school cinema.
