00:01. Army: Heavy fighting continues on all fronts

Heavy fighting is taking place across the front, and Russia is carrying out intensive attacks and drawing up new reserves, Oleksandr Syrski, commander of Ukraine's ground forces, said via Telegram on Saturday, visiting units near Kupiansk in the region. The commander added that he listened to reports from commanders directly at the command post and held operational meetings where “possible enemy action scenarios were considered, taking into account intelligence findings.”

The top priority, the Ukrainian commander added, remains the conduct of effective intelligence, the coordinated use of all means of artillery fire, the protection of electronic warfare and the protection of the lives of our soldiers.

On Wednesday, January 31, the American think tank Institute for War Studies (ISW) reported that a Russian offensive was thought to be underway on the border of Kharkiv and Luhansk oblasts in eastern Ukraine, and that Russia would achieve some tactical success therein. that may not turn into operationally important progress.

ISW also reported that Russian forces had made tactical advances southeast of Kupiansk along the P07 (Kupiansk-Swatowe) road near Krokhmalny, and Russian forces were making more intensive attacks west and northwest of Krokhmalny, toward the Oskol River.
