Defense lawyer Gjert Ingebrigtsen was highly critical of the police investigation
Gjert Ingebrigtsen’s defense attorney, Heidi Reisvang, criticized the police work and said that investigative measures requested by human rights defenders had not been implemented. The media was also criticized for their handling of the case.
Heidi Reisvang at Elden Advokatfirma is Ingebrigtsen’s defender with John Christian Elden. He said the athletic profile was very unhappy with the situation his family was experiencing, including the victim in the case. At the same time, Reisvang told NTB:
– Although being in this situation is a huge burden for Gjert Ingebrigtsen and his family, he is ready to defend his innocence in court when that day comes, Reisvang said and continued:
– The interrogations carried out in this case were, in essence, carried out in a closed circuit and appeared to be partly carried out in an echo chamber. Gjert Ingebrigtsen himself denies any form of criminal wrongdoing in the case, Reisvang said, adding that Ingebrigtsen did not admit to himself in the description on which the indictment was based.
NTB has conveyed Reisvang’s criticism to police inspector Terese Braut Våge in the Sør-Rogaland police district.
– In cases like this, of course there will be many people who can say something about the family over the years. Therefore, it is important to prioritize which witnesses we believe are worthy of questioning. “When selecting witnesses, we have conducted a comprehensive assessment of what we believe needs further clarification in this case,” he said.
Earlier this week, charges were filed against athletic trainer Gjert Ingebrigtsen. He was accused of abuse in a close relationship. The indictment includes matters relating to one of the athletic profile’s children. He pleaded not guilty. (NTB)
