Brann turned around and won on the day of the party – his profile was in tears
For the second time in as many days, Fire hit Rosenborg. This time it was the women’s team who recorded the longest streak after the men’s 3-0 defeat on Saturday.
– This is very fun. I knew that I had one task, namely to put the ball into the goal. In a match like this, it’s really fun to do that, match winner Anna Aahjem told TV 2 after the match.
More than 5,000 people were present at the “Stadium” on the day when the Brann women’s team officially moved into Bergen’s main hall. In the past, most matches took place at Stemmemyren in Sandviken.
This made former captain Cecilie Kvamme shed tears.
– I wonder when I’ll stop being emotional about this scheme here. But moving here and the whole city supporting us means a lot to us, he told TV 2 after the game.
– It’s great to be a Brann player during the day, continues Kvamme, who hails from Bergen and was captain for a long time before Marthine Østenstad recently took over.
But it looked dark for a long time. Rosenborg took the lead after 32 minutes through 17-year-old Frøya Dorsin. And this is not without controversy. TV pictures clearly showed Emilie Nautnes at the front.
– That’s a big deal, yeah, I saw it. It’s important that they don’t take it. His arms were very far from his body. “It was strange that none of the three or four judges saw it,” Brann’s Ingrid Stenevik said from the sidelines in the second half.
– The gloves are very clear. It’s incredible that no one on the officiating team saw it, said NRK football expert Carl-Erik Torp.
But after three substitutions and a change in formation in the first half, Brann turned things around. First, Martine Østenstad equalized with a penalty kick four minutes into the second half.
Then Østenstad brought on substitute Anna Aahjem again in the 80th minute. Alone with the goalkeeper, he made no mistake and ensured that six of the six possible points in the weekend’s big city clash went to Bergen.
The result means Brann is “only” six points behind leaders Vålerenga at Toppserien with one game in hand.
– With a defeat here, it would be a minor disaster for Brann in terms of the gap to Vålerenga, Torp believes.
