Approaching football holiday record – 125,824 spectators in Eliteserien and division 1
This year’s May 16 match sold just under 900 tickets from the new best list for the top two divisions of Norwegian football.
A total of 125,824 spectators were said to have watched Thursday’s 16 matches in the Eliteserien and division 1. This number lags behind the record of 126,715 in 2022.
Last season May 16 attendance stopped at 121,344. The figure refers to tickets sold and not how many people were actually in the stadium.
The elite series club reported a total of 92,657 viewers. This number decreased compared to last year which amounted to 98,097. The record 106,414 occurred in 2009.
In division 1, the figure ended at 33,167 compared to 23,247 from last year. Vålerenga contributed greatly to the recovery and accounted for almost a third of ticket sales. The Oslo team dropped from the top level last year.
