“It is in Germany’s interests to block it,” said Prof. Andrzej Przyłębski in the program “News Television Guest wPolsce24”, commented on the fact that investments in the development of a container terminal in Świnoujście were suspended.
The former Polish ambassador in Berlin argued that blocking investment in the container terminal in Świnoujście was in Germany’s interests.
The German economy is recording increasingly worse results on a global scale. The task of German policy is to reduce the scope of this phenomenon in all areas, and this is one of its elements. This is a competitive terminal for German terminals, especially Hamburg which dominates Europe. (…) Germany has an interest in blocking it. And our government acts not in Poland’s interests, but in Germany’s interests. That’s amazing. I’m waiting for citizens to finally realize this
– said Prof. Przyłębski.
Take advantage of Germany
According to Prof. Przyłębski, blocking or delaying other important investments is also important.
During these eight years, Polish society has become an ambitious society. We are already starting to catch up with most European Union countries in terms of living standards. (…) If we talk about CPK, there is clear data that shows what percentage of our exports leave and are exempt from import duties in Frankfurt and Leipzig. This is an easy-to-understand German interest. Government actions to liquidate or delay these investments hurt Poland and benefited Germany.
