“This commission is purely political and intended to distort reality. “This commission, in our opinion, may have committed a crime, because reporting a crime, despite knowing that it is not a crime, is a crime,” said Przemysław Czarnek, lawmaker from Law and Justice, during a press conference, referring to the work. from the postal election investigation commission.

Commission final report
The Sejm’s Investigative Committee on postal elections adopted a final report on its work and voted to submit 10 notices to the prosecutor’s office over alleged crimes by 19 people, including former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński.
In the report, the commission assessed that “the government at the time was attempting to organize postal elections to result in the re-election of the then President of the Republic of Poland, who, according to most opinion polls, could have won the election in the first round.” According to the committee “however, it is recognized that as the epidemiological situation develops, restrictions are imposed, and the economic impact increases, this support may wane and reduce the chances of re-election, which is indeed the case.”
““Attempts to hold elections in the early stages of a previously unknown infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and during a global pandemic,” in the commission’s opinion, “are irresponsible and threaten the lives and health of Polish citizens. standards of the rule of law and civil liberties.”
Report it to the trash
In contrast, lawmaker Krzysztof Szczucki, referring to the committee’s final report, said that such waste should only be thrown into the trash.
As Law and Justice MPs who are members of the postal election investigation committee, we expressed a dissenting opinion on that position and reported that the committee agreed with our dissenting vote at its last meeting. We wish to state clearly and unequivocally that the adopted report is only suitable for the dustbin. This has no substantive or legal value, is counterfactual in nature, the findings found are not in line with Polish law in force at that time and currently. Therefore, it is not suitable for correction
– he said.
With full awareness, after knowing the contents of the draft report, we decided not to submit amendments, because we could only submit one amendment demanding that the report be thrown into the trash. In this space, we provide a separate space, which presents the content that should be included in the main report. The selection of correspondence is prepared in accordance with applicable laws and the existing epidemic situation. Today a dissenting opinion will be submitted. We will also present our arguments at the Sejm session
– he announced.
