We’ll also map out what stresses teachers out for. Participants will pick up 2 activities that they can use in their class, which they can try on their own, and a useful contact they can call for help.
2) How to work with mental hygiene – workshop for TEACHERS (Anna Kubíčková, OSIV)
We will present important material and simple principles that can be applied continuously and long term to support the mental health of students, adults and ourselves. The basic elements of an approach that respects trauma will be introduced. Participants will try practical relaxation methods.
3) Mental health care I – workshop for STUDENTS (Veronika Ješátková, OSIV)
During the workshop, we will focus on myths about mental health and illness and advice on how to behave and how to help loved ones with mental difficulties. They explain the basics of mental hygiene and how to properly care for your mental health. Students will also try mindfulness techniques (relaxation techniques such as meditation) and get practical tips for managing stress. It goes without saying that the transfer of contacts to psychological assistance services is also common.
4) Mental health care II – workshop for PUPILS (Zuzana Horálková, OSIV)
As part of the workshop, we will talk about what can affect our mental health, how to take care of it and what to do when we start to watch for signs of psychological problems in ourselves or our loved ones. Together we will try guided relaxation methods and share strategies that help us relax and reduce the stress we experience when it is too much for us. In conclusion, we will talk about what external support options students can use if they are not feeling well and do not know how to handle their emotions.
WHAT IS THE WORLD SCHOOL PROGRAM?
The World School Program (People in need, ADRA, ARPOK) supports the education and preparation of students for real life in a globalized world and is based on a simple methodology of three steps: learn – find out – act.
107 Czech kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and nearly two hundred other schools from Europe are currently proud of the World School award. This school year, at the World Schools Summit on June 15, another 8 primary and secondary schools from the Czech Republic will receive the title of World School.
