Ukrainian officials accused Russia of “deliberately increasing its lethal attacks against civilian targets.”
The allegations come after this week’s attack in Vinnytsia, which killed 23 people, including three children.
Oleksij Danilov, from the National Security Council of Ukraine, said Security that surveillance of Russian strikes shows increased emphasis in recent weeks on the Ukrainian civilian population.
This is how Putin won the energy war
message tra
Russia has been accused of pursuing civilians during its invasion of Ukraine, but now it seems that rocket attacks on civilian and civilian infrastructure are increasingly becoming a different tactic.
– We have systems in place to monitor and track all airstrikes and other attacks in our country, and what we have noticed recently is the tendency to destroy more and more civilian targets. They have decided to terrorize the civilian population. “This is not just something I believe in, but what our monitoring is telling us,” Danilov said.
Danilov stated that some of the attacks – including during a visit by UN Secretary-General António Guterres to Kyiv – appeared to convey messages of defiance. Thursday’s attack in Vinnytsia came as European ministers sat in The Hague to discuss how Russia should be held accountable for the atrocities committed during its invasion of Ukraine.
“We have enemies who violate all the rules of war and reject international law, so we couldn’t have expected better behavior,” Danilov said.

Two different reasons
Russia has used several long-range missiles, capable of striking anywhere in Ukraine, for two different reasons, according to Sidharth Kaushal, an analyst at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).
– Either to disrupt the flow of supplies to the front line, or to terrorize civilians. The recent attacks seem to be among the latter.
Some of the missiles used date back to the Soviet era – and were used in ways that did not match their original design.
On Friday, Russia admitted that it had attacked the center of Vinnytsia. They claimed the target was a meeting between Ukrainian officials and Western arms dealers, but without providing evidence. Previously, Kremlin sources denied hitting Vinnytsia, claiming that another city had been hit.
Claims to have killed six Norwegians
In a table published on the Telegram messaging channel, Russia claims that the Russian Ministry of Defense has “disappeared” six Norwegian volunteer soldiers in Ukraine. The claim has not been verified or confirmed by anyone else.
Further in the table, Russia claims that 16 Norwegian soldiers arrived in Ukraine. Seven of them are said to have left the country again, while three are still around.
The verification service Faktisk.no Verifiserbar has tried to follow up on the information, but to no avail.
