Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday regretted that his country “alone” in the war against the Russian armywho launched the invasion of Ukraine the day before. “Who is ready to fight with us? I don’t see anyone. Who is ready to give Ukraine a guarantee of NATO membership? Everyone is scared,” Zelenskiy said in a video posted on the president’s website.

There is no point in relying on decisive moves by the West for now, although the current sanctions don’t seem to have impressed Vladimir Putin. “The bombing of Kiev was intended to force the Ukrainian authorities into final submission and de facto destroy the will to self-defense. We are dealing with a brutal attack, a plot to destroy Ukraine as a nation. We rely not only on effective defence, but also on a decisive reaction from the West,” said Stanisław aryn, director of the Department of National Security at the Prime Minister’s Chancellery and spokesman for the coordinating minister for special services, in an interview with Radio Plus.
At the same time, he stressed that no one in the West wants to risk global conflict. “We are facing a situation where a number of countries are supporting Ukraine, also in terms of weapons and financial issues. Poland is very active in all these aspects and firmly supports the Ukrainian government in its preparations for war before, and now also in situations of real aggression we must realize that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, which the West fears, is the beginning of global aggression. We must act uniformly as NATO. Recent statements by Jens Stoltenberg (secretary general – editor of NATO) indicate that no military deployment to Ukraine is currently being considered or prepared,” he said.
aryn was asked if Poland was ready to protect Ukrainian authorities. “I have no signal about the decisions that have been made on this matter, nor do I have the knowledge that such a need should be articulated. It seems natural that Poland would offer any assistance we can provide. We are a very active country, very involved in this. international forum “- he answered.
Stanisław Aryn also added that the increase in traffic on the border with Ukraine is clearly visible. “Over the past 24 hours, 29,000 people have crossed the border from Ukraine. About half of them were those who had so far made a verbal statement that they were fleeing the war, those who should be considered war refugees. accepted in Poland according to all procedures. Poland is preparing for a longer wave of refugees from Ukraine who are simply fleeing hostilities,” he said.
