The Prime Minister pointed out that in order for our relations with Germany to be exemplary and excellent, we need compensation, because without it, a giant injustice will always hang in the air between the countries of Poland and Germany.

The prime minister also answered the question of what would happen next in light of the published report on the losses inflicted by Poland.

Polish family tragedy

The prime minister stressed that “we are talking about millions of people, billions of losses. Behind every casualty, behind every missing person – here in Bydgoszcz and throughout Poland – there is a personal drama, an individual family tragedy. And let us also remember that these are not statistics, these are not just numbers, this is a human tragedy”.

On Thursday, at the Royal Palace in Warsaw, a report on the losses suffered by Poland as a result of German aggression and occupation during World War II was presented. It was reported that Poland’s total loss was PLN 6 trillion 220 billion 609 million, which amounted to USD 1 trillion 532 billion 170 million.
