More than 100 firefighters rushed to the Radisson Blu hotel in Berlin at 5:45 am this morning after the 25 meter high aquarium suddenly exploded.

This was reported by a number of media, among others Deutsche Welle. Two people were reported injured in the accident.

AquaDom is the world’s largest free-standing cylindrical aquarium and contains 1 million liters of water and 1,500 fish. The aquarium opened in 2003.

One of the unique things about the aquarium is the built-in transparent elevator which gives guests a unique experience of getting to and from the rooms.

The large amount of water also caused problems outside the building, and caused traffic to be diverted.

The reason why the aquarium broke is unknown. There should be no suspicion that an attack has taken place, he wrote Deutsche Welle.
