Premier League clubs spent more on transfers than clubs in the other top five leagues combined this summer. It should come as no surprise, then, that the Premier League is also top of the table when it comes to agent fees in relation to transfers in 2022.
On Thursday, FIFA released figures showing how much agents have grossed this year, and the total worldwide agent fee this year was £505.6 million. That’s an increase of 24 per cent from last year, and is close to the record £531.5 million from 2019.
Premier League clubs accounted for 165 of the 505.6 million pounds paid this year – nearly a hundred million more than second-placed Serie A, writes Daily mail.

How much each club is paying in agent fees is not being disclosed by FIFA at this time, but with so many big transfers this summer, it’s easy to guess who is at the top of the list. Manchester United were among those spending big, including on Antony, Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez.
Liverpool, in turn, have committed to pay £85 million to Benfica if all clauses in Darwin Nunez’s transfer are met. Previously, Swiss football finance expert Ramble estimated that £13 million was paid to agents in connection with this transfer.
That doesn’t compare to what was paid in relation to Manchester City’s signing of Erling Braut Haaland. The actual transfer fee was a relatively modest £51 million, but according to Swiss Ramble, it’s about the same as an approved agent’s fee. Haaland’s late agent, Mino Raiola, reportedly received 26 million pounds, while his father Alf-Inge and his team reportedly received 17 million pounds.
The Athletic wrote this summer that agents provide an average of 9.9 per cent of transfer fees in relation to transfers.
