Oslo, September 4, 2023: “Beavis & Butt-Head” creator Mike Judge and MTV Entertainment Studios have created the first new original episode of the animated cartoon in 10 years.
As Norway’s first streaming service, Pluto TV aired season 1 (12 episodes) of the new animated series. That will happen on September 4th, when the first episode is released.
The series tells the story of two teenagers Beavis & Butt-Head, and their countless attempts to get attention from women. The main character spends most of his time watching and making fun of heavy-metal music videos, and is characterized by low intelligence and clumsy humor. This new season also includes reality TV, the internet, and ultimate fights – to name a few.
Created and voiced by writer, producer and director Mike Judge, the characters Beavis and Butt-Head are based on the 1992 short film, “Frog Baseball,” which aired on MTV’s animated program “Liquid Television.” After MTV commissioned a full series with the character, “Beavis & Butt-Head” aired for seven seasons from March 8, 1993 to November 28, 1997. The series was revived in 2011 with its eighth season airing on MTV. When the series was first released, “Beavis & Butt-Head” received widespread critical acclaim for its satirical and biting comments to society. The series’ popularity led to various spin-off projects, including the 1996 feature film “Beavis & Butt-Head Do America”.
A wide selection of episodes from previous seasons can also be watched on Pluto TV in Norway – completely free.
– We are proud to add a new season of “Beavis & Butt-Head” to Pluto TV’s already strong portfolio of content in Norway. “Beavis & Butt-Head” is one of the world’s most iconic animated cartoons on TV, and after several years of absence, the format is back again, more entertaining than ever, said Jesper Dahl, CEO of Pluto TV in Central and Northern Europe.
