This was stated by the Norwegian Sports Confederation in its press release.
– I am very motivated to continue the work to reverse the downturn and ensure good framework conditions for Norwegian sport after the pandemic. The last few years have been demanding on Norwegian sport, but we have stood together, achieved good results and followed through on the ambitions adopted at the sports council in 2019, both sportingly and politically, said sports president Berit Kjøll.
Berit Kjøll was elected president of the sport after Tom Tvedt in 2019.
Much of his time as a top leader in Norwegian sport was marked by emergencies. Nearly a year after he was elected, a pandemic hit. This year, he has worked to mitigate the consequences of higher electricity prices, which have affected a number of sports teams, with demands for a better support scheme from the authorities.

He places particular emphasis on team spirit and the close contacts and solid cooperation he has with shopkeepers and employees in specialized associations, sports circles, sports councils and sports teams as crucial to his decision to run for re-election to the Sports Council in 2023.
– We have many important games ahead of us, but we are a strong team and I have informed the selection committee that I want to continue as team manager to ensure continuity and continue the good work we have done together in a very special period, said Kjøll .
Cooperation
He believes that collaboration and continuity are essential to solving the challenges facing sport both in the short and long term.
– The power crisis threatens to intensify an already serious situation in sport, but unfortunately everything indicates that the pressure on the condition of our skeleton will become even more demanding in the future. Both the majority of people and countries have to tighten finances at the same time as we struggle with dropouts, greater inequalities related to whether people can afford to participate and the stack of perks. These are things that I love and want to contribute to ensuring continuity in teamwork to solve, said Kjøll
He previously held management positions at companies such as Huawei, Telenor and Tusenfryd.
The Sports Council will be held in Bergen in early June 2023.
