The Microsoft founder recently revealed in an interview with the Armchair Expert podcast that he envies his former friend and rival Steve Jobs. Gates believed that Jobs had “legendary charisma” and that he was a “genius,” CNBC reported.
“He is a wizard in dealing with humans. I’m really jealous,” Gates told host Dax Shepard in the interview.
After much turmoil at Apple, Steve Jobs returned to the company he co-founded in 1997, and made major changes by launching the iMac, iPod, iPhone, among others. Jobs died in 2011 from a rare type of pancreatic cancer.
“No one else could do what he did there. “I can’t do it and I don’t know anyone who can,” Gates said in an interview.
Bill Gates also spoke about his weaknesses in interviews and highlighted, among other things, that he is not very social. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal in 2019, Gates said that he had to work hard to become a better public speaker throughout his career.
The tech guru from Seattle is comfortably the second-richest person in the world, behind Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, with an estimated fortune of $98 billion, according to Forbes.
Microsoft shares have also had a nice run up so far this year and are up 35.50 percent to $213.69.
