Putin completely miscalculated how resolutely the West was against him and failed to recognize the incompetence of his own troops. That’s what retired FSB general Yevgeny Savostjanov claims to the Daily Mail.
– Putin is now very scared. He understood that he was in trouble, said Savostjanov.

Savostjanov believes the Russian president should be grateful for the country’s situation within a year of the invasion.
– He lived happily with everything in his own hands, but he went and destroyed everything. Now he is in such a vulnerable psychological state that he is clinging to every possible win, he said.
Savostyanov, who was head of the Moscow branch of the FSB before Putin came to power in 2000, believes the Russian president is afraid of the wrath of those who have “lost everything” to the war.

I think Russia will be the big loser
Friday marked one year since the invasion of Ukraine. Putin claimed that his goal was to “demilitarize and de-Nazify” the country.
Ukrainian forces prevented a swift Russian victory, and what Russia calls military special operations have degenerated into slow trench warfare in eastern and southern Ukraine. Neither side is showing any sign of giving up, and it is unlikely that the conflict will end soon.
Savostyanov believed that the Russian people would be the big losers in the war.
– After all, they will live in very bad conditions, it can’t be helped.
Reduced to “third world leader”
He believes that Russia’s role in the world has continued to deteriorate and has now been reduced to that of a “Third World leader” of sorts, but that support will only last as long as financial support follows.
Recently, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has visited a number of African countries in what appears to be a charm attack to find new alliance partners.
Savostjanov claims that there will come a time when Russia will experience empty shelves, a shortage of goods, poor people and a decline in technology in all areas.
