After the departure of Szymon Włodarczyk, Górnik had to “ready” for a new young player for the upcoming season.
In the 2023/24 edition, the regulations regarding young players in the extraklasa will not change. Clubs still have to play at least 3,000 minutes with them throughout the season to avoid being penalized. Only Rakow failed to do so in previous games. The club abandoned assumptions from the start and consciously opted for future payments. In terms of time limit, Górnik is the fifth “strongest” team in the league, but when it comes to the Pro Junior System, it is … the fifth worst. Why?
He only collects “Włodar”
In the Eksklasa, young players are defined as Polish players who will be 22 years old in the year the game ends, and players who are younger. In other words, last season they were players born no earlier than 2001. The problem, however, is that some simplifications have been made for the Eksporlasa, because, for example, in the first league, young players are players born in 2002 (and younger than 2002). ). To fill the cap, players from ’01 were allowed to play in the top league. However, to score points in the Pro Junior System – it is necessary to exhibit from ’02. That’s why Szymon Włodarczyk became a key figure for Górnik.
The striker was born in 2003, so there’s no doubt about him – and he guarantees minutes and points in PJS. Kryspin Szcześniak and Aleksander Paluszek also accumulated minutes, but because they were born in 2001, they were not enrolled in the Pro Junior System. There you can also find the names Dariusz Stalmach (from late August in Milan), Jakub Szymański (from winter in Wisła Płock), Krzysztof Kolanka and Nikodem Zielonka. The problem is that they all spend too little time on the pitch to meet the limits put in the PJS – at least 5 games and 270 minutes. Therefore, the points were only collected by Włodarczyk, who was no longer with Roosevelt.
Team leader
In future seasons, youth players will be footballers from 2002 (and younger), and points in the PJS will be 2003 (and younger). Miners may now have issues with these aspects, and especially with the Pro Junior System. Those who are able to score points and, as a result, apply for a financial bonus to the club, are poorly trained in senior football. Mateusz Ziolkowski has the most experience, even if it doesn’t bring him to his knees. The winger born in 2003 has made 2 matches in the extraklasa and 11 each in league 1 and 2 (22 of these appearances were on loan last season). However, it is not known what future awaits him, as he is currently not with the first team at the training camp in Austria.
Zielonka went there (1 match in the Eksporlasa, class ’04) and the high hopes of the “tricolor”, the leader and captain of the Polish under-17 national team Kolanko (4, ’06). Also, there are quite a few players from reserves or academies. Among them, you should probably look for potential debutants in the upcoming season of the Extraklasa.
Extension attempt
While playing under the Pro Junior System meant giving the club money, meeting the 3,000 minute limit allowed it to avoid penalties. Starting from PLN 500,000 to PLN 3 million. In this aspect, in the coming season it is enough to play players from 2002, and the Zabrze team has … one of them.
Because, above all, it is for this reason that Kamil Lukoszek returned to the club in the summer. The winger from Opole spent the last two seasons in the first league Skra Częstochowa, who had recorded a dip in the previous season. Lukoszek came to him from Górnik, where he played in the reserve and junior teams since 2016. However, he failed to make his debut for the senior team. Only in the last round of the 2019/20 season, he sat on the bench in the game against Zagłębie Lubin.
Lukoszek played 50 times for Skra, scoring 2 goals and 3 assists. He was a first team player most of the time last season. He accumulated the necessary experience in adult football, so Górnik decided to bring him back, offering him a one-year contract with an option to extend it. So you could say the 21-year-old has one season to convince staff and activists alike. If successful, the extension will only be a formality.
