Klopp on Haaland’s transition: – Setting new standards
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp resigns Sky Sports asked what he thought of a possible transfer of Erling Braut Haaland to Manchester City. The Norwegian is expected to be ready for the Premier League club during this week.
– If Erling Haaland goes there, it won’t weaken them, definitely not. I really think there’s been enough talk about this transition. “I know there’s a lot of talk out there about money but this transition will set a new standard, let me put it this way,” Klopp told the channel.
Previously, it had been speculated in German and British newspapers that Haaland would earn more than £700,000 a week, clearly the most of any City player.
But according to Fabrizio Romano, the world’s most famous reporter on international transfers, the Norwegian’s salary will be 375,000 pounds a week, about the same as superstar Kevin De Bruyne.
According to several newspapers, including Bild, Haaland was sold to City for 75 million euros (750 million kroner) due to a clause agreed in his contract with Dortmund. According to Fabrizio Romano, his clause is close to 60 million euros.
Klopp is not worried that City seem better off with Haaland in the team.
“I signed a new contract knowing that City will not stop developing,” he said.
