During his career, he made 111 World Cup starts, contested two world championships in classic skiing and four world championships in ski flying. He also represented the Czech Republic at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver and Sochi.

In 2010, he also made history in the Czech jump. At the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica, Slovenia, he flew to a height of 236 meters, which was only three meters short of the then world record. However, he still holds the national record thanks to that appearance.
