At 11 Norwegian time, King Charles III was officially sworn in as king. It will be broadcast on television in most parts of the world. According to Sky News, the coronation of a king had never been broadcast live on television.
After the Council of Accession will declare Charles as King, the King himself will make his personal statement and assure the nation that he will assume the duties and responsibilities of sovereignty.
On Friday night, Charles addressed the nation, his first speech as king.
– I speak to you in deep sorrow. My beloved mother is an inspiration and role model for me and my family. I am indebted to him, as every family owes his mother, Charles started a prerecorded speech.

Rhetoric Andreas Birger Johansen believes that Charles managed to deliver a speech that touched “everyone”.
– It’s a pretty traditional speech, but still different from the one her mother gave. There’s more emotion in his speech, and while it may not be a huge emotional excess, he has a much softer form and seems more present as a real person, Johansen told Dagbladet.
