Diamond League athletics today in Paris brought two world records. A week after breaking the all-time record for the 1500 meters, Kenya Faith Kipyegon also ran the fastest at the 5000 meters. Lamecha Girma from Ethiopia significantly improved 19-year-old Said Saif Shahin’s world record in the 3000m steeplechase.

The 29-year-old Kipyegon is a two-time Olympic champion in the 1500, but he only ran five times on the track twice in 2015. Since then, his personal best is 14:31.95. With the help of current world record holder Letesenbet Gideyová, whom she entered in the top 200, she now takes more than 26 seconds from him. He increased his record time of 1.42 seconds with a performance of 14:05.20 minutes.

Girma, unlike Kipyegonová, had declared an attack on the world record before the race and made a high-profile appearance. He took control of the tower in 7:52.11 minutes and took 1.52 seconds from the appearance of Shahin, a native of Kenya, who represents Qatar. He conquered it at the age of 22 after hitting a long solo run. He followed success from the hall, where he reached the top of the historic table over 3000 meters. He improved his personal record in the 3,000 meter race from last year’s Zlatá tretra in Ostrava by 6.57 seconds.
