The Prime Minister of Luxembourg flies to the NATO summit on a Depeche Mode plane

When Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn and Defense Minister François Bausch arrived in Vilnius on Tuesday, journalists were shocked to see “a huge red skull on the plane used by peaceful little Luxembourg,” tweeted AP journalist Philip Crowther.

It turned out that Luxembourg’s most important politician had flown in on the jet used by the British rocker, and the big red skull was accompanied by the letters DM (from the band’s name) and MM (in reference to Depeche Mode’s new album).

How did it happen? The Luxembourg military tried to book flights through the European Air Transport Command, but the European Air Transport Command did not have enough private jets for a major international event. Luxembourg should charter an available plane elsewhere where they can enjoy some privacy before the summit, reported TV channel RTL.
