It’s like common communication apps (Messenger, WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, etc.), but has something extra. It’s about the application Original Chatwhich is available for free for Android and iOS.
The strongest point of this app is real time machine translation. So you can write to people from all over the world, and their messages will arrive on your phone already translated.
You can create multilingual groups within the application, for example with German, English and Polish. When you write a message in Czech, each user will receive the message translated into their preferred language.
In total, 104 world languages are supported. The application was developed specifically for various humanitarian and diplomatic missions abroad, and in the future the application will also have a high security mode. Thanks to this, we can see the logos of USAir Force or Google for Startup on the project page in the “Supported By” section. However, the upcoming update will ensure greater data security.
The principle is simple, you just need to register in the application, fill in your phone number, which will receive a verification SMS, then enter your first and last name, add a profile photo and indicate your primary and secondary languages. You may stumble a bit during registration, if you use a Gmail or Microsoft account to log in, you just need to wait for the verification SMS to arrive. If you register with your own email, you will have to wait for the verification email which takes a while and sometimes doesn’t arrive at all.
First name, last name and two primary languages. That’s it, Native Chat app doesn’t need more
However, after using the app for a while, we have some opinions on improvements. After sending the message, it would be useful to at least have a visual overview of what the translation looks like. After all, machine translation is not completely error-free. For messages sent to your phone, a flag is sufficient to identify the original language of the original message. It’s possible that the translation is ambiguous, so the original archive in the original language may be useful.
Introducing Native Chat:
This app is still under development, so it doesn’t have full functionality yet. Sharing photos, videos, animated GIFs and links should be added soon. Download Original Chat for free from Google Play and App store.
