- The biggest announcement was the game Super Mario Bros. Wonder – back to 2D with lots of new features
- Princess Peach will be getting her own game next year, and Luigi the scarecrow will be too
- Fans of the Pokemon brand will surely be delighted with the Detective Pikachu sequel
At the end of its June video game news marathon, Nintendo took the floor with its traditional live presentation. The approximately 40-minute broadcast focuses primarily on the constellation of titles with Mario and other characters commonly found around the bearded plumber. However, there is also a continuation of Detective Pikachu or a detailed description of the fourth part of the logical series Pikmin. It seems likely that even at the end of a generation – as insiders are saying about the current period – Switch console owners won’t be short on a good portion of entertainment.
Detective Pikachu Returns
The detective’s return with lightning judgment is imminent. Detective Pikachu Returns is the sequel to the original game, which was released for Nintendo DS in 2018. Once again, players can enjoy solving all kinds of cases and mysteries in the shoes of a couple consisting of boy Tim Goodman and pokemon Pikachu with an unquenchable love on coffee. The release date is set for October 6.
However, news from the world of animated characters doesn’t stop there – two DLCs were also announced for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, called The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk.
Super Mario Bros. Awe
The biggest announcement of the entire presentation was the return of the legendary Super Mario Bros. brand. The novelty with the subtitle Wonder refers to the two-dimensional roots of the series, which, in addition to a fresh style, promises to expand with a wide variety of strange abilities. Thanks to one of them, for example, Mario can turn into an elephant – see for yourself in the attached demo. We’ll see soon, the game releases on October 20th.
Luigi’s House: Dark Moon
Next year, Mario will take a step back to pass the spotlight on to his brother Luigi, who will return in a visually enhanced version of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for Nintendo 3DS.
Starring Peach Princess
In 2024, a new game with Princess Peach in the title role will also be premiered, but apart from some intentions, we know practically nothing about the game. At their word, the creators will show off the first details later, perhaps with an upcoming release.
Super Mario RPG
This year – on November 17 to be precise – fans will be treated to a remake of one of the most popular role-playing games of all time. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is about to receive a complete remake that offers a modern visual style, but also returns to iconic moments and characters, both positive and negative. Also, connoisseurs will certainly be pleased with the fact that the successful turn-based combat system remains without significant changes.
Pikmin 4
The fourth part of the funny puzzle series Pikmin received a relatively generous gameplay preview, which will be in the hands of players exactly one month from now, on July 21. The trailer focuses on individual gameplay elements, including character upgrades and a terrifying night mode, where you can’t do without the luminous new Pikmin character, with whom you’ll face all manner of monsters as the twilight brings it to its proper rage.
