Taiwan's trade with the Czech Republic shows, on a per capita basis, nearly three times the turnover of trade between China and the Czech Republic. This follows the latest data on foreign trade of these economic units.
Last year, the Czech Republic's trade turnover with Taiwan reached 32.2 billion kroons. Trade turnover between the Czech Republic and China amounted to 672.5 billion kroons. Taiwan had a population of 23.8 million last year, while China had 1,400.1 million. Converted per Taiwanese resident, the trade turnover with the Czech Republic is CZK 135.30, while the trade turnover between the Czech Republic and China is CZK 48 per Chinese resident. This means that, considering its population, Taiwan is still a trading partner of the Czech Republic that is three times more important than China. More precisely, Taiwan is a trading partner that is 2.8 times more important than China.
In 2015, from this perspective, Taiwan was 3.1 times more important than China, but a year later it was 3.4 times more important. Since then, the relative importance has declined slightly, so that the multiple gradually reached levels of 3.3 in 2017, 2.9 in the previous year, and finally 2.8 last year. Even so, Taiwan remains a much more important trading partner for the Czech Republic than China on a per capita basis.
