The new GPT-4 Turbo model comes in two versions. One is used for text analysis and the other for understanding text and images. GPT-4 Turbo is capable of working with contexts of up to 128,000 tokens and can remember the context of hundreds of pages of text. Knowledge of this model begins in April 2023.
OpenAI has also improved function calls, allowing multiple calls at once, and the API will produce valid output in JSON and SEED formats. GPT-4 Turbo also handles speech synthesis, integrates DALL-E tools, and lowers token prices.
Special version of GPT
Users will be able to create their own versions of GPT for personal or production use. Building a GPT version doesn’t require complex programming knowledge, just know the basic challenges. OpenAI also announced the creation of a “virtual shop” where users can offer their own versions of GPT to others.
The company also introduced APIs for the DALL-E text-to-image model and a new text-to-speech Audio API. OpenAI will unify all ChatGPT Plus models, so there is no need to select a specific model before entering a request.
Some of these innovations should be available now, while others will arrive in the coming weeks or months. A complete recording of the conference is available at YouTube OpenAI channel.
